Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has been voted to serve as the Nigeria Wrestling Federation’s president for the upcoming four-year term. The 14 board members unanimously chose CG Adeniyi over the weekend in the Gymnasium Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. Chris Amkpila, a representative from North Central, was re-elected as the sports federation’s vice president in a related moveAdeniyi, the recently elected NWF President, responded to the election results by thanking everyone for entrusting him with the leadership of one of Nigeria’s “most vibrant sports federations.” Through more robust sponsorships and inclusive governance, the Customs leader promised to broaden wrestling’s appeal. “I want to sincerely thank the NSC for conducting a transparent and trouble-free election,” he stated.
