John Obi Mikel, a former Chelsea player, has responded to the club’s decisive 4-1 win against Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final on Wednesday night.
Chelsea overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat Real Betis in Wroclaw, Poland, securing their first trophy since 2021.
This signified that the Blues had triumphed in all five major UEFA men’s competitions.
West Londoners turned the game around with goals from Enzo Fernández, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moisés Caicedo after Abde Ezzalzouli had given the LaLiga side an early lead.
Mikel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea, celebrated his former team on his Instagram Story.
“Mission accomplished, congrats to everyone at Chelsea,” the ex-Super Eagles midfielder stated.
Mikel spent more than a decade at Chelsea, during which time he secured victories in the Premier League and Champions League.
Having ended the Premier League season in fourth place, Chelsea also clinched a spot in next season’s Champions League.
