Fear as locals in the Plateau community find a dead body

Following the discovery of a middle-aged man’s body close to the gate of the nearby Township Primary School, the once tranquil Tafawa Balewa community in Plateau State’s Jos North Local Government Area was rocked by panic on Monday.

A local told reporters about the bizarre and gory discovery and that it was the first time it had been discovered in the area.

Johnson Nyam, a local, stated that since the victim was not a local, he could have been murdered somewhere else in the town and his body left in the Tafawa Balewa neighborhood.

Nyam described how he was walking down the street when he noticed a sizable crowd and police cars gathered at the Township Primary School gate. Nyam said he was shocked to see the dead body while he was on his way to work. A man was lying down when I got close, and some people were claiming that it had happened during the night. Nyam stated, “But no one knows exactly what happened to the man, but he was dead.”

Nyam stated that after closely examining the body, he discovered some substances emanating from the man’s mouth and nose. This led him to speculate about the cause of death, speculating that the man might have been poisoned.

Although DSP Alfred Alabo, the State Police Command, has not yet issued an official statement regarding this incident, a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity stated that the body had been taken to a mortuary and that investigations are underway to determine who he is and how he died.
