FG and UNIDO Start a Project to Promote Industrialization

The National Coordination Body (NCB) for the Programme for Country Partnership (PCP) Flagship Strategy (2024–2028) was officially launched in Abuja by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, and the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. For Nigeria’s development, the historic project seeks to advance and quicken Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID), boost economic expansion, and encourage innovation.In his remarks yesterday, Minister of state for industry John Owan Enoh said industrialisation is in the heart of Nigeria’s economic policy as it generates framework for industrial growth The Programme determines productive base across priority regions and also highlights core pillars of industrialisation. They support the government’s efforts to encourage growth focused on exports and to advance equitable and geographically balanced development.The goal of the partnership with UNIDO is to increase export competitiveness, foster technology transfer and synergy, and promote technology because the economy is growing but production is not, and that is the issue that we wish to address,” Enoh explained. Ambassador Philbert Johnson, UNIDO Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, spoke at the event and underlined the initiative’s strategic significance.
