The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has assured federal workers that the ongoing software upgrade of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) will not delay the payment of October salaries.
In a statement released on Wednesday by spokesperson Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF addressed claims suggesting the upgrade would cause payment delays.
The OAGF explained that IPPIS, which previously used three payroll platforms, had successfully migrated one platform to the “SoftSuite” application in 2024, leaving two active platforms: EBS and SoftSuite. Due to the less-than-optimal performance of the EBS platform, the government is now consolidating all payroll activities onto the single SoftSuite application to boost efficiency and accuracy.
The agency stressed that this move is a continuation of an existing initiative, not a new development. While minor issues are expected during the transition, the OAGF affirmed that these are being promptly managed and they do not anticipate any significant disruptions.
The OAGF explicitly assured all federal workers that October salaries are secure and will be paid on schedule, urging staff and the public to disregard misleading reports not issued by their office.
