As confirmed by reliable sources, Bashir Jamoh, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) from 2020 to 2023, is still in the custody of the anti-graft agency as of the time this report was filed last night. Jamoh was detained by operations of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).According to one of the sources, the former head of NIMASA was detained after reportedly neglecting to accept multiple invitations from the commission in response to petitions filed against him. The source claims that one of the petitions charged Jamoh of abusing his position by giving himself an unfair advantage through dishonest procurement procedures.
