Paul Scholes, a former star of Manchester United, has opposed Arsenal’s £51m bid for Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad.
The former England midfielder stated that Zubimendi was not impressive in Man United’s Europa League victory over Real Sociedad.
Zubimendi has accepted personal terms with Arsenal in anticipation of a summer transfer.
The Gunners appear poised to fend off competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona to secure the 26-year-old star.
The North London club in the Premier League has already secured a deal for Zubimendi, with only an announcement pending.
“Which hole is Martin Zubimendi going to fill? On The Overlap, Scholes remarked, “I don’t see a hole there.”
„Meiner Meinung nach ist Declan Rice für diese Position [Defensivmittelfeldspieler] geeignet.“ I watched Zubimendi play for Sociedad against United, and I wasn’t impressed.
“That might be the source of my doubts about his ability to fill that gap.
