Afrobeats artist Davido has been praised by veteran Nigerian musician Bright Chimezie, who acknowledges that he is an inspiration to her.
According to the DAILY POST, Davido stated that his popular album With You with Omah Lay was influenced by the legend’s song “Because Of English.”
Chimezie, who appeared in this week’s With You music video, told Hip TV that he was unaware that the song was lifted from Because Of English until Davido told him.
He emphasized that he is honored by the OBO crooner’s gift and commended Davido for his humility.
“There are no words to express how I feel. I’m overjoyed. I am honored. And I appreciate Davido acknowledging that I was an inspiration to him,” he stated.
“I had no idea that my song Because Of English had served as the inspiration for his song With You. It was him who helped me to realize that. He called me and admitted that my music served as inspiration for him. The humility and all of it make me very pleased. According to the highlife icon, who just inked a publishing agreement with Sony Music, he is still producing music.He clarified that he and his peers reclaimed seats so that the up-and-coming performers may flourish.
