A stolen car has been found by the Bauchi State Police Command, and three suspects who are reportedly connected to its theft and subsequent sale have been taken into custody.
Nafi’u Habib, the Command’s spokeswoman, revealed this in a Monday-dated statement that was made public in Bauchi on Tuesday.
He claims that the 53-year-old complainant, who lives on Danjuma Goje Street in Bauchi, complained that his 2000 black Honda with the chassis number JHGC9564614804512 had been stolen.
According to Habib, the car was stolen in March 2026 and was reported to the police on June 8. As a result, agents from the “A” Division Township responded right away.
On June 8, 2026, the 53-year-old complainant, who lives on Danjuma Goje Street in Bauchi, stated that his Honda car had been stolen. The car is a black, 2000 model with the chassis number JHGC9564614804512. In March 2026, it was pilfered, he claimed.
He clarified that the vehicle was recovered along Gombe Road in Bauchi as a result of an intelligence-led investigation conducted by the operatives in response to the information.
Operatives of the Command assigned to ‘A’ Division Township immediately began an intelligence-led inquiry after receiving the allegation. The stolen vehicle was found and seized on June 8, 2026, along Gombe Road in Bauchi, thanks to persistent pursuit and concerted efforts, Habib continued.
According to the police spokeswoman, three suspects related to the crime were also apprehended as a result of the operation.He identified the suspects as Sani Saidu, 58, of Madaki Street, Bauchi, who was purportedly the vehicle’s first purchase; Shuaibu Fagarau, 54, of the Kofar Idi region, who was purportedly the second buyer; and Samaila Abdullahi, 46, of the same Kofar Idi area.
All three suspects are now being held by the police and helping detectives, according to Habib.
“At the moment, all suspects are being held and assisting investigators.” The car has been found and is being held as an exhibit until the investigations are finished,” he said.
The representative went on to say that this was the third stolen car that division employees had found in the previous month.
He continued by saying that Sani-Omolori Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police, praised the officers for their promptness and professionalism.
According to Habib, the police commissioner reiterated the command’s dedication to combating criminal activity throughout the state and gave locals the assurance that the culprits would face charges in court after investigations were completed.
