Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State officially swore in three new High Court judges on Monday, tasking them to execute their duties with integrity, impartiality, and reverence for God.
The newly appointed judges are Barrister Maryam Umaru Abdullahi, Barrister Shamsuddeen Abdurrahman Ƴammama, and Barrister Abubakar Muhammad Dikko.
During the ceremony at the Government House, Governor Radda hailed the appointments as a crucial moment for the state’s judicial system, stating they would bolster the judiciary and improve the effective delivery of justice. He praised the State Judicial Service Commission for conducting a credible, merit-based selection process.
The Governor reminded the judges that the public, including the vulnerable, relies on them for justice, urging them to be diligent and sincere. He concluded by assuring continued government support for the judiciary to foster collaboration among all arms of government, while simultaneously warning against delays in judgment, which can erode public trust.
