President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to commission a newly cIn Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is anticipated to commission a recently finished 6,000-metric-ton lithium processing facility. In an interview with State House reporters following a private meeting with the President in Abuja, Governor Sule explained that the expleen was finished and prepared for the formal unveiling.
When he returns from his brief vacation, Mr. President has promised to visit Nasarawa to officially launch the project.
In our endeavors to unleash the economic potential of our solid minerals industry, this plant marks yet another significant milestone,” Sule stated.
The governor recalled that after confirming the state’s high-quality lithium deposits, a 3,000-metric-ton lithium processing plant was put into operation in the Nasarawa Local Government Area in 2024. This project drew in more investors.

Another group of investors has successfully finished the 6,000MT facility after being impressed by the commercial quantity and quality of lithium in Nasarawa, he said.
The project, according to Sule, is a strategic step in Nigeria’s efforts to industrialize its solid minerals sector, decrease exports of raw minerals, and establish local value chains.
One of the most sought-after minerals in the world today is lithium, which is essential to rechargeable batteries used in electric cars and renewable energy storage.
