In Akaleku village, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, gunmen suspected of being Fulani bandits carried out a violent attack on Wednesday night, killing a newlywed man and kidnapping his wife. According to Naija News, the shocking incident has left the local community in a state of fear and uncertainty. Attack on Newly-Wedded Couple During Honeymoon According to witnesses who spoke to Vanguard, the attackers broke into the couple’s home at approximately 11 p.m., shot the man dead, and took his wife hostage.
Mr. and Mrs. Alu Anzaku were victims of the attack on April 12, 2025, just two weeks after they were married, during what should have been the first few days of their honeymoon.
The violence occurred in the isolated village of Akaleku, which is situated along the Lafia/Markurdi Highway. Banditry and intercommunal violence have been the main causes of the region’s growing instability.
The whereabouts of the abducted woman are still unknown as of the time this article was filed, and family members and supporters have voiced their serious concerns.
In other developments, armed bandits abducted Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, the parish priest of St. Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, which is in Kaduna State’s Kauru local government area, on Thursday.
