Following allegations that Mercedes-Benz has filed a lawsuit against Victor Osimhen over an alleged unpaid leasing obligation, Nigerians have united in support of the striker.
The issue, which was initially covered by the Italian publication Il Giorno, is based on allegations that the Nigerian international failed to make payments on a Mercedes GLE hybrid SUV that he leased in 2023 while he was at Napoli.
Mercedes-Benz Banking Services According to reports, Italia S.p.A. filed a lawsuit in Milan accusing the 27-year-old of failing to pay his debts, with an estimated €90,000 in arrears. It is also alleged that the vehicle was not returned at the conclusion of the contract.
Reactions on social media site X have mostly been in favor of the forward despite the gravity of the accusations, with many users expressing skepticism and urging caution.
Some Nigerians recommended that the matter should be settled in private rather than in public because it might have been the result of a misunderstanding.

Others insisted that the assertions did not fit Osimhen’s profile and questioned the report’s veracity.
“I apologize, but I don’t believe this. @nuelpraise213 wrote, “It doesn’t make sense; something might be wrong somewhere.”
There were also opinions that the striker wouldn’t jeopardize his reputation on such a matter.
