A 14-year-old boy, Sulaiman Nura Ado, drowned in a pond known as Ruwan Promise in Kano State on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at about 3:00 p.m.
The incident was reported to the Kano State Fire Service by Ghali Isah Muhd. A rescue team was dispatched to the scene and successfully pulled the boy out of the water. However, he was found unconscious and was later confirmed dead.
The deceased boy’s body was handed over to Police Constable Mubarak Ishak of the Rijiyar Zaki Police Division.
The Fire Service, through its Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, extended condolences to the family and appealed to parents and guardians to keep children away from ponds used for local swimming, citing the risk of tragic deaths.
