On Monday, 203 vulnerable Nigerians who had returned from Libya were greeted by the Lagos Operations Office, the National Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant parties.
A statement posted on NEMA’s official X Twitter on Tuesday stated as much.
According to the agency’s statement, the returnees were met at Lagos’s Cargo Terminal at Murtala Muhamed International Airport.
It further stated that returnees on a Boeing chartered jet operated by Al Buraq, registered 5A-BAC, arrived at the airport at 19:00 hours.
“The returnees comprised 50 males, 96 females, 29 children, and 28 infants,” the statement said. With the help of NEMA, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services, the Port Health Services, the Nigeria Police Force, the National Commission for Refugees, the Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons Offices, and the Nigeria Immigration Service, the International Organization for Migration provided the necessary assistance to the returnees.
The victims were moved to New Ikeja Hospitals for treatment in two medical problems.
“The returnees were transferred to the Igando Internally Displaced Persons resettlement center for a further reintegration program following the required biometric and profiling exercise.”
