The Little League Official in Nigeria has announced that the 2025 Major Division Tournament will take place from December 18 to 23, 2025, at the International School, University of Ibadan.
This year’s tournament will bring together leading Little League teams from across the South-West, including Ara (Osun State), Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Ibadan.
Additional teams from other regions of the country have also signified interest, with final participation depending on some issues. A total of 10 Major Division teams are projected to compete.
The tournament is open strictly to players within the official Little League age category of 10 to 12 years, ensuring compliance with global development standards.
A major highlight of the 2025 edition is the expected participation of the Major Baseball Team from the Republic of Benin, which will allow the tournament to determine the Champion of West Africa.
The District Administration also acknowledges the support received from two long-standing partners:
Play Global, an American organisation dedicated to the growth of Little League programmes across Africa.
Mrs. Ronke Champion-Adeyemi, a committed philanthropist and sports advocate who has consistently supported Little League baseball development in Nigeria for over 16 years.
Despite these contributions, the organisers note that additional support is still required to fully cater for the welfare, nutrition, and logistics of participating children throughout the tournament.
The District Administration is calling on public-spirited individuals, organisations, and all supporters of youth development to partner in delivering a safe, memorable, and impactful sporting experience for young athletes across West Africa.
