The 23rd Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC), which was organized by Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) in partnership with the National Mathematical Center (NMC), attracted over 10,000 participants from basic and secondary schools around Nigeria on Saturday. Students from Primary 5 and 6 as well as Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1–3 participated in the competition, which was held concurrently at locations in 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).The ANMC is one of the biggest and most prominent mathematics competitions in the nation, according to NTIC Managing Director Dr. Fevzullah Bilgin, who spoke at the occasion. According to him, the competition, which started in 2003, was created to increase students’ proficiency in mathematics and to support efficient teaching and learning of the subject at the basic school level. Although the competition was once limited to students in Primary 5 and 6, he continued, the junior secondary category was added in 2022 to allow JSS 1–3 students to participate.
