Aminu Tambuwal, the legislator running for the Sokoto South Senatorial District in the general elections of 2027, has pulled out of the contest.
The African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has endorsed Faruk Yabo, the previous Speaker of the House of Representatives, as a consensus candidate to succeed him.
According to DAILY POST, Tambuwal stood for president in the 2023 general elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he resigned in favor of former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
In a same vein, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, who served as Tambuwal’s deputy governor while he was governor of Sokoto State, has been selected as the ADC’s consensus candidate for governor of the state in 2027.
