Adebo Ogundoyin, the chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, has urged the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to help bring some of the reforms the group is advocating to fruition.
Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, urged the NGF, led by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, to back the conference in order to realize state police, fiscal federalism, and power devolution.
The Oyo Speaker noted that without the governors’ backing, the reforms might not be implemented during his courtesy visit to the Kwara governor in Ilorin.
He insisted that the governor’s visit was a component of the efforts to improve parliamentary governance and hasten the nation’s constitutional revisions.
“We need the Governors’ Forum to support important legislative proposals like state policing, fiscal federalism, and devolution of power,” stated Ogundoyin.
According to the DAILY POST, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, attended the event.
