The Nigeria Premier Football League, or NPFL, had two away victories on matchday six: Barau FC and Shooting Stars.
Shooting Stars defeated Warri Wolves 2-1 in Ozoro to secure their first road victory of the season.
Warri Wolves’ Igbunu Evwierhurhoma scored the first goal in the 52nd minute.
The visitors secured maximum points with two late goals from Qamar Adegoke and Adams Mustapha.
Barau FC defeated their hosts, Kun Khalifat FC, 3-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
This season, it was Barau FC’s maiden NPFL victory.
After 14 minutes, Ebuka Nwokorie gave Barau FC the lead.
A minute later, Yahaya Ibrahim gave Barau FC the equalizer.
Ibrahim scored his second goal of the match nine minutes from the end, while Hillary Ekawu gave Kun Khalifat the lead for the first time in the 65th minute.
In Lafia, Anas Yusuf and Abubakar Abdullahi scored goals as Nasarawa United defeated Katsina United 2-0.
