Despite their strong start to the season, Nasarawa United’s head coach, Mbwas Mangut, feels it’s critical for his team to stay grounded.
The Solid Miners defeated Katisna United 2-0 at home in a matchday six match on Sunday, moving them to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League, or NPFL, table.
Anas Yusuf, the top scorer from the previous season, and Abubakar Abdullahi scored goals for Nasarawa United.
Mangut stated that while there are still games to be played, it is not yet time to celebrate.
Mangut told the club’s reporters, “We actually planned for this, and as you said, we are achieving our goals gradually.”
“We must maintain our focus. Since the league is still in its infancy and is a marathon, it is not yet time to celebrate.
