Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the nation’s pervasive insecurity.
Obasanjo stated in an interview with News Central that a government has no right to exist if it is unable to protect its citizens’ lives and property.
The former Nigerian leader was responding to the recent surge of insecurity that Nigeria has experienced, which has led to numerous citizen deaths and kidnappings.
Let me tell you, a government has no right to exist if it cannot ensure the safety of its citizens’ lives and property.
“Our National Assembly’s elected members are not entitled to set their own pay and benefits.
“They are not allowed to do that by our constitution. The revenue mobilization and allocation commission ought to handle it, he stated.
