Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023, has criticized the Federal Government for what he called “fiscal recklessness” in Nigeria’s budgetary process. Obi’s statements come amid speculations that the Senate may pass the 2026 national budget on March 17.The Senate Committee on Appropriations set February 2–February 13 for committee-level budget estimates during a special session in Abuja, according to Daily Trust. Obi, in a statement made on his X account on Monday, questioned which budget the government is now operating.
