Chioma Olise, a midfielder for Trabzonspor’s women’s team, has expressed affection and respect for Paul Onuachu, a player from her own Nigeria who plays for the men’s team.
The former Edo Queens player signed a contract with Trabzonspor through June 30, 2027, after moving there in February 2025.
Onuachu has scored 24 goals in 30 appearances so far this season while playing for Trabzonspor.
But since recovering from a muscle ailment that prevented him from playing against Alanyaspor, he hasn’t scored in his last three games.
With 22 goals—two more than his nearest rival, Eldor Shomurodov of Basaksehir FK—the Nigerian player is presently vying for the Super Lig Golden Boot.Olise commended the gifted forward and stated that Nigerians are proud of Onuachu’s accomplishments in an interview with Anadolu Agency regarding her time in Turkiye.
She declared, “I fully support Onuachu because he is a citizen of my country,” in remarks that CNN Turk was able to obtain. He is my king, so please don’t stop scoring goals like that. I give him my wholehearted support.
Of course, I want to meet him. In addition to being inspired by Onuachu, I also aspire to work with Anthony and Chibuike Nwaiwu.
Olise made her senior team debut in a friendly match against Algeria in October 2024 and represented Nigeria in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
