In front of the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced Ezenwafor Jude and Okeke Francis Chukwudi as its candidates for governor and deputy governor, respectively.
The PDP described the results of its most recent primary election in a letter dated May 7, 2025, which was sent to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and formally accepted by INEC on May 12, 2025.
The letter, which was jointly signed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary, and Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, announced the party’s flagbearer.
We are writing to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to notify them that Ezenwafor Jude C., the winner of the PDP’s Gubernatorial Primary in Anambra State, which the Commission is monitoring, is the party’s candidate for governor in the November 8, 2025, Anambra State Gubernatorial Election,” the letter said.
The party’s selection for the deputy governorship position was also revealed in the document: “Please be also informed that Hon. Okeke Francis Chukwudi is Ezenwafor Jude’s Running Mate.”
The party attested that both candidates had submitted the required paperwork in order to satisfy INEC’s standards.
We hereby forward the Credentials/Particulars: Forms EC-9, EC-9B and EC-13B, of both the candidate and running mate,” the PDP wrote.
The party further appealed to the commission to acknowledge the submission while reiterating its respect for due process.
“Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated,” it concluded, adding, “Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and accept the assurances of our highest esteem and regards.”
