Dele Momodu, a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, announced on Monday that representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had transferred the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Momodu revealed this while pointing out that the PDP has been taken over by APC agents. “ADC is a coalition of different political parties and I resigned from the PDP because I saw that we have reached a kind of cul-de-sac, so I’m joining ADC,” the seasoned journalist stated in an interview with Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
Since then, I have resigned. As you can see, the PDP has been totally taken over by agents of the ruling APC, who insist on remaining in the PDP while working for the APC. This is somewhat unusual, but it’s acceptable.
“It is honorable to resign if I disagree with my party, and I did just that.”
Momodu also revealed that he is keeping an eye on the PDP’s developments.
He went on to say: “I’m a journalist in addition to being a politician, and I keep an eye on developments in the PDP and other political parties. It’s highly likely that the PDP won’t be able to save itself from the ruling party’s agents, which is why I left.
“While I work for a coalition or any other party, I cannot honestly be a member of the PDP. I ran for president in 2011 on the platform of the National Conscience Party, which I joined after realizing that the Labour Party was not interested in running for president at the time. Anyone familiar with my background will recall this. It taught me a valuable lesson, and I received 26,000 votes.
