PDP: “We will surprise Nigerians and come out stronger.”

Emmanuel Ogidi, the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South, conveyed optimism that the party will emerge from its current internal reforms with greater strength and cohesion.

During an interview on Arise News, Ogidi stated that the PDP leadership is resolute in confronting internal obstacles and restoring confidence among its members in advance of the forthcoming national convention scheduled to take place in Ibadan. He affirmed the PDP’s standing as a robust and well-structured political entity, expressing confidence that through unity, discipline, and member loyalty, the party will surmount its contemporary challenges. However, he issued a cautionary warning to members whose actions undermine the party’s collective interests, asserting that such conduct constitutes a betrayal of the mission to rebuild the PDP for success in the 2027 general elections. Ogidi specifically noted that those currently working against the party’s progress would have their past contributions overshadowed and would be remembered as saboteurs. Conversely, those who reverse their negative actions and support the party will be positively recognized. He appealed for patience from the Nigerian public, promising that the party will soon take decisive action (“coming with the big stick”) against disruptive individuals. He also confirmed that disciplinary matters against certain members are currently under review. Ultimately, he assured both members and supporters that the PDP remains focused on its primary objective: to reclaim power and institute effective governance for Nigerians.
