The Imo State Obidient Movement has denied rumors that Nasir El-Rufai’s recent visit to the state was connected to its leader, Peter Obi.
The organization claimed that Peter Obi was not even present at the event in a statement signed by Anukanti Vigilius Chukwuka, Coordinator, Obidient Movement, Imo State chapter.
Over the weekend, El Rufai traveled to Imo State to attend the Odenigbo Lecture, a yearly cultural and intellectual gathering hosted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri.
El-Eufai’s visit to Imo State has been associated with a lot of false impressions, according to the Obidient Movement.
The Movement further stated that it had seen reports that connected its leader to the visit, with some asserting that Obi was the one who extended the invitation to El-Rufai.

The mischief makers are everywhere, bringing up Peter Obi’s name as the person who invited El Rufai, despite the fact that he did not attend this year’s lecture despite having attended others when he was governor.
Obi accepted the invitation to the dinner in honor of his Coalition colleague El Rufai because he believed it was a good Igbo gesture to remember our benefactors.
