The Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have committed to boosting collaboration between the federal and state governments to improve governance and development nationwide. This decision was part of a communiqué released after the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) meeting held in Birnin Kebbi from October 16 to 17. Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, confirmed that the meeting focused on reviewing national socio-economic challenges and the states’ role in driving development, stressing the need for better coordination among all three tiers of government to ensure effective service delivery and inclusive governance. A significant event during the meeting was the formal welcoming of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, into the APC, which increases the party’s count of controlled states to 24. The governors also reviewed ongoing economic and social reforms, commending initiatives aimed at enhancing fiscal stability, food security, power supply, and infrastructure, and pledged to align their state-level programs with national development priorities to improve citizen welfare.
