Ned Nwoko, the lawmaker who represents the Delta North Senatorial District, states that politics should be a public table for the nation, not a secluded meeting of a select group, and the readiness to make Nigeria great must be a priority for every political leader.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja on Thursday, Nwoko said that political conversations, final choices, and procedures should be clear, include everyone, and be easily reachable by all citizens.
He stated that because of this, political leaders and other leaders in the country must start thinking creatively for the improvement of the populace.
He said: “No other person can make our country great except we the fortunate political leaders. That is the reason my political beliefs and actions correspond with the necessity to dismantle barriers of exclusive politics, encouraging governance that includes everyone and provides fairness, advancement, and genuine benefits for all inhabitants in Delta North and Nigeria generally.”
The BASEMEDIA news organization reports that Nwoko, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Reparations and Repatriation, reflecting on his two-year experience in the Senate, said that this history had also influenced his proposed laws in the Senate.
He added: “As I continue to reflect on my two-year journey in the Senate, I take pride in highlighting one of the strongest foundations of my legislative history: the sponsorship of 34 transformative Bills that address the specific needs of Nigerians and the future of our nation.”
“Each one of these bills represents my unwavering dedication to governance centered on the people, economic changes, giving power to the youth, strengthening institutions, and the fair development of all regions, especially Delta North, which I am honored to represent,” he added.
