On Wednesday, Nigeria celebrated the first-ever Nigeria Reputation Day, an event aimed at encouraging honesty, patriotism, and a shift in behavior among institutions and citizens. The Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG), a private sector-led initiative of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), released a statement in honor of the event, which had as its theme “Better Nigeria, Better Reputation.Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, the chairman of the NRMG, clarified that the day gives Nigerians a chance for “reflection and renewal” and to honor one of the nation’s most significant national assets: its name.
