Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, has advised Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, on how his club should play Real Madrid in Wednesday’s second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup.

The former England international told Arteta to let his players “go toe to toe” against the hosts at Santiago Bernabeu in an interview with the most recent episode of the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast.
“How will Mikel Arteta get this team ready for this match? That, in my opinion, will be a crucial element in this match,” Ferdinand stated.
Does he go out there and say, ‘Let’s sit and hold what we have, let’s be defensive, let’s defend,’ or does he say, ‘You know what? They must earn four points if we score, so let’s take it to them! I would do that because they need to score five goals to defeat us, and when have we given up five goals?
