Antonio Conte, the manager of Napoli, gave an explanation for why his club lost 2-1 to AC Milan in Sunday’s Serie A match at San Siro.
Milan defeated the visitors thanks to two goals from Christian Pulisic and Alexis Saelemaekers in the first half.
During the second part of the match, Kevin De Bruyne did score a penalty for Napoli.
After the match, Conte acknowledged that Milan had the advantage because of the early goal he let up.
He claimed that the Napoli players made things difficult for themselves when they were behind the hosts 2-0.
“It’s unfortunate that we gave up so quickly; the team could have performed better overall in both of those situations,” Conte said to DAZN Italia.
