Jannik Sinner, the four-time Grand Slam champion, defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) on Sunday to win the Paris Masters for the first time and regain his top spot in the world rankings. When the ATP rankings are released on Monday, Sinner will have returned to the top of men’s tennis thanks to his first Paris title and the early elimination of Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, the current world No. 1 in the sport.In June of last year, the Italian took the top spot, a position he maintained for 65 weeks until losing to Alcaraz in the US Open championship match in September.
