Despite the Super Eagles’ 2-1 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday, head coach Eric Chelle has acknowledged that he made several bad choices. Nigeria, who are aiming for a fourth continental championship, started their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with three points. Charles M’Mombwa tied the score for Tanzania after Semi Ajayi gave Chelle’s team the lead. Two minutes later, Ademola Lookman scored the game-winning goal. “I made a lot of choices; some were good, some were not good,” Chelle remarked following the game. “I told the reporters that I am the coach and that I have my vision.”
