Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has responded to the passing of Alex Manninger, the team’s former goalkeeper.
The news of Manninger’s passing on Thursday at the age of 48 was startling and depressing, according to Arteta.
At his pre-match news conference on Friday, prior to Arsenal’s Premier League match against Manchester City this weekend, he responded to a question regarding Manninger’s passing.
Obviously, this is some extremely unfortunate news. And we express our love and condolences to his family and a portion of his trip.
Regarding Manninger’s passing, Arteta remarked, “It was shocking news and a difficult one to take.”
