The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has denied any involvement in the power outage that occurred in a number of Abuja neighborhoods.
Its denial refutes assertions made by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), which attributed the outage in various Federal Capital Territory (FCT) locations, including the Dilic Hotel, Prime Plaza, Exclusive Stores, Gilmore, Takwa Crescent, and Former Zartech, to a “technical fault” on the part of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
The TCN spokeswoman, Ndidi Mbah, made this announcement on Thursday.
In contrast to Abuja Distribution Company’s (AEDC) assertion, Mbah said, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) informs the public that the power outage affecting Dilic Hotel, Prime Plaza, Exclusive Stores, PENCOM, AMCON, Gilmore, Takwa Crescent, Former Zartech, and its environ is not due to a technical fault from TCN.”
“There is absolutely no outage affecting TCN’s feeders that serve these regions. To be clear, TCN’s feeders that serve these regions are operating normally, notwithstanding what AEDC claims.
Residents are now perplexed as to what caused the power outage due to the assertions and counterclaims.
