Terrorists are killed in the Sambisa woodland by a NAF airstrike.

In a successful bombing on terrorist hideouts in the Sambisa Forest, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) killed a number of militants and destroyed important buildings.

The action, which happened on Monday, April 20, 2026, was a component of ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the northeastern region of Nigeria under action Hadin Kai.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed the development and stated that the strike was carried out in response to reliable information about terrorists moving through woodlands.

He claimed that the air component used fighter jets to engage the targets with precise strikes, neutralizing many fighters and destroying their logistics base.

“The Nigerian Air Force successfully carried out an air interdiction campaign on terrorist enclaves in Sambisa Forest based on reliable intelligence. According to the statement, “a number of terrorists were neutralized and their structures were destroyed.”

It further stated that the action was a component of ongoing military operations meant to weaken the capabilities of local insurgency organizations.

The statement claims that there were no civilian casualties during the operation.
