According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the house of God will be the first to be judged.
In an announcement of its 164th edition of EFCC Connect, titled “Fighting Economic and Financial Crimes in the House of God,” the Commission made this claim in a post on X on Tuesday.
The Commission lifted the biblical saying from 1 Peter 4:17, according to BASEMEDIA.
The verse is frequently read to suggest that God’s judgment, or a period of intense trial and punishment, starts with His own people, or believers, and then spreads to those who reject the gospel.
However, some X users have already left conflicting comments under the post.

“Eagle wey dey look one direction,” wrote another X user going by the handle Tache.
@Blacklord Plus Two asserts that “you are not in a position to judge the house of God.” “You have no jurisdiction to say such a thing, when your own judgment favors the corrupt politicians looting the economy’s resources, shame on you,” @Big Dada wrote.
