The Lagos State Government has launched an official probe into a staff member of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) over claims that the employee diverted government payments into a personal Opay account.
This investigation was triggered by a public post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @Bhadmoz (TrueBlue), who alleged that customers were improperly charged N45,000 but only given receipts for N7,100.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed that the individual implicated is a LASAA employee. In a swift response, he ordered the staff member to report to the agency’s headquarters immediately to face disciplinary action.
Commissioner Wahab emphasized the state government’s commitment to accountability and integrity, issuing a strong warning that corruption or misconduct will not be tolerated. He also commended the vigilant citizens who help expose such unethical acts.
