The Oke-Ode bandit massacre victims are mourned by the Kwara PDP.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has expressed grief and outrage over the brutal killing of 12 residents of Oke-Ode community by suspected bandits on Sunday.

In a statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party described the incident as barbaric, senseless, and a tragic display of man’s inhumanity to man, insisting it must be condemned by all.

The PDP extended condolences to the victims’ families and the entire Oke-Ode community, lamenting that criminals now appear to have overwhelmed the state government and are gradually taking control of Kwara.

“Our hearts bleed for the families of those murdered in cold blood and for the many others battling for survival in hospitals. The disturbing videos of the aftermath circulating online make it seem like Kwara has descended into a war zone,” the statement read.

The opposition party criticized the government’s perceived nonchalant response, describing it as evidence of “monumental leadership failure.”

While praying for the repose of the deceased and the quick recovery of the injured, the PDP urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to stop dismissing security concerns as politics.

“The protection of lives and property is the foremost duty of any government. A leader who fails in this regard has failed in every other area of governance,” the party declared.
