With approval from the party’s National Working Committee, the Action Peoples Party, or APP, has formally published its comprehensive schedule for holding primary elections prior to the 2027 General Elections.
The party said that the development acted as a formal notice to all party stakeholders and candidates in Imo State to start making the required preparations in accordance with the timetable.
The National Office’s schedule states that pre-primary operations started on May 6, 2026, when the notice of primary elections at all levels was published.
The deadline for selling and submitting completed nomination and expression of interest forms is May 6–May 25, 2026. On May 27, 2026, the cleared candidates will be published.
The party has set deadlines for holding its primary for a number of elected seats.
By 12 p.m. on May 27, 2026, the National Headquarters will host the Presidential Primary.
The Governorship Primary is set for May 30, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the State Secretariats.
The House of Representatives Primary is scheduled for May 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Federal Constituency Headquarters, while the Senate Primary is scheduled for May 29, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Senatorial District Headquarters.
In a similar vein, the House of Assembly Primary will take place at the Local Government Area Headquarters on May 30, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This was said in a statement provided to Owerri journalists on Friday by Steve Nnadi, the LMO state publicity secretary.
The authorized costs for nomination and expression of interest forms have also been specified by the party.
The cost of the Presidential Nomination Form is 17.7 million naira, plus a three million naira expression of interest fee.
Candidates for governor must spend three million naira to show interest and seven million naira to nominate.
While candidates for the House of Representatives must pay three million naira for nomination and one million naira for expression of interest, senatorial candidates must pay three million naira for nomination and two million naira for expression of interest.
The nomination form for the House of Assembly costs one million naira, and there is a five hundred thousand naira expression of interest charge.
In keeping with its commitment to inclusivity and equal participation in the democratic process, the party has declared that women and people with disabilities will receive free nomination forms.
At the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Barrister Uchenna Nnadi, the National Chairman, and Abu Ibrahim Bossan, the National Secretary, duly approved the schedule.
