Over the weekend, 20 boxers fought in 10 bouts at the resurrected Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame (LBHF) Championships, bringing the Indoor Sports Hall of Agege Stadium to life. The fight between Olamilekan Badiru of Lion Star BC, Ikorodu-West and Fawaz Sharafadeen of Star Boxing Club, Ajegunle Apapa in the men’s 70kg class resulted in a technical knockout (TKO), according to the final results of the ten fightsIn the first round, Sharafadeen eliminated his opponent in less than two minutes. Bolarinwa Michael of Next Page BC, Mushin, defeated Daramola Daniel of Brightest BC, Otto Awori, 3-2, in the men’s 50kg division. In the men’s 55kg, Lateed Qudus of Kamlat BC, Oyingbo, duplicated the outcome by defeating FighterBC’s Quadri Oyebamiji. Ojo Samuel Talabi of Abule Egba’s Risadep BC won 4-1. Adeyemi Adebayo of Olore BCAlimosho defeated Muftau Abdulahi of Oluomo BC, Surulere, 5-0 in the men’s 63kg, while InnocentProsper of Always BC, Bariga, prevailed in the men’s 60kg. The referee halted the competition in the third round between Sofia Yakubu of Cico BC, Oshodi, and Nurat Sulaimon of Dangote BC, Badagry, in the women’s 48kg divisionIbrahim Olayiwola of Segun Body BC, Surulere, who defeated Azeez Ishola of Lion BC, Ikorodu West, 5-0 in the men’s 63kg division, was another notable performance. Dolapo Ajayi of AMK BC, Ifako Ijaiye, lost 4-1 against Hammed Adegoke of Confidence BC, Kosofe, in the men’s 75kg division. After the referee interrupted the fight in the third round, Michael Olomitutu of Ashimota BC, Odi-Olowo, defeated Segun Aboseh of Badagry BC in the day’s last event. In addition to sharing ideas for the tournament’s future, LBHF Director David Mohamed praised the boxers for their performances.
