TikToker gets sentenced to a year in prison by the court over the video.

Popular TikTok content creator Abubakar Usman Kilina was given a one-year prison sentence by a Kano magistrate court presided over by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan of Court No. 21.

In addition, the court offered him the chance to pay a ₦100,000 punishment and a ₦30,000 compensation charge to the Kano State Film Censorship Board for what it called “wasting the agency’s time.”

Freedom Radio reports that Kilina was found guilty of using foul language, encouraging immoral behavior, and including crossdressers in one of his TikTok videos.

The Kano State Film Censorship Board brought a complaint against him, which led to the sentencing.

Kilina was cautioned by Magistrate Hadiza to refrain from acts that are indecent to the public and that if he did so again, the court would be forced to impose the whole term without the possibility of a fine.
