Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, claims that President Bola Tinubu has “tried” to retain vice president Kashim Shettima for this long.
This was spoken by Baba-Ahmed on Thursday night’s episode of Arise TV’s Prime Time.
His remarks coincide with rumors that Shettima won’t be Tinubu’s running mate in the general elections of 2027.
Baba-Ahmed claims that he is unable to discuss what he knows about Shettima on national television.
“I don’t hold Tinubu responsible for Shettima. Baba-Ahmed stated, “Because whoever knows what Shettima did and does will not allow him to last this long.”
It cannot go over the airways. I’m aware that I’m speaking on television.
“I am aware that Tinubu has made an effort to keep Shettima around for this long. I believe Tinubu has attempted to even contemplate dropping him.

“It’s unbelievable what people will do to gain power.”
