Members of the recently established opposition coalition party have come under fire from Katsina State’s governor of Dikko Radda, who has called them disgruntled individuals who are upset because they are not in power.
Radda said this on Channels Television’s breakfast show, “Sunrise Daily.”
“Let’s be practical. Let’s be honest with ourselves. The days of misleading Nigerians are finished. Who did not hold a position in the previous administration? Who is not in the government? We are aware of everyone’s history.
He remarked, “They are crying and yelling because they are outside the government, and we know what they have done when they were in government.”
After months of negotiations, the recently announced alliance adopted the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, according to the DAILY POST.
Additionally, it appointed Bolaji Abdullahi as spokesman, former Senate President David Mark as interim national chairman, and former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola as secretary.
In his victory speech, Mark charged that the Federal Government, led by the All Progressives Congress (APC), was transforming Nigeria into a one-party state.
In response, Governor Radda stated that the organization need to present its national agenda and market itself to Nigerians.
“Let’s be realistic. If we are coming with something new to Nigerians, every Nigerian is going to embrace it.
“Who are these people in this coalition? Why were they not in another coalition before? What are they going to come and do differently from what is happening in the country now? Can they promise Nigerians what they are going to bring about?
If any Nigerians wish to run for president in this election, let them come out and tell them. Allow them to visit and inform Nigerians if the subsidy will be reinstated.
“And if they are going to reinstate the subsidy, let them explain to Nigerians how they plan to run the government, what resources they will use to do so, and how much they will pay to implement the subsidy,” he continued.
