U-20 WWCQ: CAF says Falconets vs. Malawi will take place in Ikenne

The opening leg of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final round qualifying match between Falconets and Malawi will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), according to DAILY POST.

The Confederation of African Football, or CAF, allegedly told Malawi that the game would take place at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, causing confusion in the lead-up to the match.

However, the NFF received permission from CAF to hold the game on Thursday night at Remo Stars Stadium.

The match on Saturday will begin at 4 p.m. local time.

On Saturday, May 9, the return match will take place at the Bingu National Stadium.

A spot in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled for Poland in 2026, will be awarded to the aggregate winner.
