After defeating Atletico Madrid on Tuesday to get to the UEFA Champions League final, Arsenal set new records.

But according to OptaJoe, the victory over the La Liga heavyweights means that Arsenal has advanced to the Champions League final for the first time since 2006. This is the longest time between European Cup and Champions League finals for a team in the competition since Atletico Madrid in 2014 (40 years), and the longest time by an English team since Liverpool in 2005 (also 20).
Additionally, the Premier League North London team is now the only one to have won all 14 of their games in a single Champions League season.
Additionally, Arsenal tied their club record for the most victories in a single season (41 in all competitions), having previously won 41 in the 1970–71 season.
In the final, Mikel Arteta’s team will either play Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain.
