Rio Ferdinand, a veteran of Manchester United, has explained why Arsenal would go to the Champions League semifinals before Real Madrid.
Last week, the Gunners defeated Emirates Stadium 3-0 in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg match.
The return leg between Mikel Arteta’s team and the Los Blancos is scheduled on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu.
In the most recent Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Ferdinand claimed that Carlo Ancelotti’s team is disorganized and that Arsenal will advance to the round of four.
According to Ferdinand, “I think this Madrid team looked a bit disjointed the other day; the squad and team balance has not been right and they have been conceding goals left, right, and center.”
“[Bukayo] Saka’s return was the big thing and it changed everything for Arsenal,” he continued.
“I doubt that they would have won 3-0 if Saka hadn’t been present. However, such is the case, and I believe Arsenal will prevail.
Ahead of their match against Real Madrid, Arsenal and Brentford drew 1-1 in the Premier League over the weekend.
In the La Liga, Madrid, meantime, trounced Alaves 1-0.
