The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, Alhaji Khamis Tunde Badmus, former Osun State Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, his wife, Barrister Udochukwu Adeleke, and the founder of the Ile-Ogbo Golf Course, Engr. Olanrewaju Abel Adeleke, have all called for greater private sector involvement in advancing and growing sports in Nigeria. The LanreLeke Sports Academy, Ile-Ogbo, hosted and sponsored the “Independence Golf Kitty 2025″ in Osun State’s Ayedire Local Government Area, where the call was madeSpeaking at the function, Engr. Adeleke underlined the value of group accountability in promoting sports in Nigeria, pointing out that the government cannot propel the necessary advancement on its own. All hands must be on deck to support government at all levels if Nigeria is to compete successfully on the international scene,” he said. He clarified that the LanreLeke Sports Academy, which began with just 20 members, currently has 105 active members and provides instruction in a variety of sports, such as volleyball, football, basketball, handball, and athletics.
